Tudor introduced the Date + Day in 1969 as a more accessible counterpart to the Rolex Day-Date—affectionately nicknamed the “Poor Man’s President.” While Rolex reserved the Day-Date largely for precious metals and more traditional case proportions, Tudor took a different, more playful path. The 7019 line brought the same day-and-date functionality into a larger 38mm Oyster-style case, giving the watch a stronger wrist presence and a distinctly versatile character.
